Violins

The love for building violins has been picked up again and Saskia is now building plenty of violins on request.

A blossomed love

Following her graduation from the renowned international school of violin-making (IPIALL) in Cremona/Italy, Saskia Schouten primarily concentrated on making violins during her first professional years. Later, she specialized in making cellos and violas.

Recently however, her original interest in violins returned: in 2009 she made a violin commissioned by the Dutch Music Foundation yet another violin, and again in 2013, also commissioned. Both have been received with such success that it inspired her to take up violin building again. After that, the requests kept coming. She also built the two violins of her string quartet (see News).
